Air pollution is an addition of air pollutants such as particulate matter gases and vapour into the atmosphere & it has an adverse effect on humans, animals ,vegetation and Human Assets.

Human activities that would lead to air pollution are:

1. Industrial growth has polluted air to a greater extent by releasing SO2, CO2, CO, oxides of Nitrogen, H2S, fumes of acids, dust particles, unburnt carbon, lead e.t.c

2.
The burning of coal and iron to generate electric power release the harmful gases .

3.
Smoke release from automobile engine creates oxides of Nitrogen and sulphur that acidify the rain.

4. Forest fire, dust storm , spraying of pesticides & insecticides also pollute the air.

SPM (suspended particulate matter) causes asthma Bronchitis and allergic cold.

SPM consists of smokes, soot( a black powder substances that is produced when coal , wood, e.t.c is burnt) , fly ash and dust (i.e particles of silica ,grit , lead, asbestos e.t.c)

Pollutant gases causes irritation in eyes throat and lungs. They also damage our lungs , kidney ,spleen e.t.c

The following three activities that would lead to air pollution are:-

1. Burning of fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum.

= When we burn oil, coal, and gas, we don't just meet our energy needs—we drive the current global warming crisis as well. Fossil fuels produce large quantities of carbon dioxide when burned. Carbon emissions trap heat in the atmosphere and lead to climate change.

2. Industrialization

= Industrialisation has led to environmental degradation in terms of industrial pollution. ... Dust, smoke, fumes and toxic gas emissions occur as a result of highly-polluting industries such as thermal power plants, coal mines, cement, sponge iron, steel & ferroalloys, petroleum and chemicals.

3. Deforestation

= Deforestation has an effect on global air quality because trees release water vapor into the air which affects atmospheric temperatures and other crucial elements that keep this earth of ours ticking over nicely. ... This inevitably results in all of us breathing dirtier and more polluted air than we otherwise would.
