To locate root 2 and root 3 on a no. line follow the steps given below:
1. Draw a line AB of any cm from the scale. Then from point A measure 1 unit and name that point as O.
2. Draw a line of 1 unit from the point O and name it as C . Now, join C with A to make AC. Now, measure AC and with A as centre draw an arc from point C and name it as D. AC= CD= root under 2.
3. Now, draw a line one 1 unit from the point D and name it as E , join point E with point A to make it AE.
4. Now, measure AE and with point A as centre draw an arc from point E and name it as F.
5. AE=EF= root under 3.
