hey mate here is ur ans

the reason may be superficial friction or it can be also due to excess photoelectric emission
as Metals are lustrous because of the free electrons they have. The free electrons can move freely in the metal causing any light incident on them to get reflected back. This reflection is specular reflection rather than diffused and thus the metal surface appears shiny or lustrous .

hope it helps you frnd

Answer:

Metals when exposed to air react with moisture and gases present in it, there by forming a dull layer of some other compound on it.
