Lymph is the fluid present in the spaces between the cells and tissues and is also called tissue fluid. Through the pores of the capillaries plasma proteins and some blood cells escape into intercellular spaces in the tissues to form the tissue fluid. Lymph drains into lymphatic capillaries from the intercellular spaces which join to form large lymph vessel that finally opens into larger veins. Tissue fluid does not contain red blood cells (RBC)
