. मोहित ने दो रेडियो में से प्रत्येक को ₹4000 में बेचा। पहले रेडियो पर उसे 5% का लाभ तथा दूसरे पर 5% की हानि हुई। कुल
लाभ अथवा हानि प्रतिशत ज्ञात कीजिए।

Method 1-

selling price 4000 , profit 5% means 5% profit on 100% cost price

so selling price will be 105% ,

105% = 4000 then 100% = 80000/21 ( cost price)

for 2nd radio,

5% loss means selling price 95% = 4000

and 100% (cost price) = 80000/19

now, total cost price of both radio = (80000/21)+(80000/19) = 8020(approximately)

total selling price = 4000+4000= 8000

loss = 8020-8000 = 20

% loss = (20/8020)×100 = 2000/8020 = 0.249 that is approximately 0.25%

Method 2 -

use formula x + y + (xy/100)

where x = +5% , y = -5%

+5-5-(25/100) = - 25/100 = -0.25 ( minus shows loss)
