Gandhi started the Dandi March from Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad was the headquarter of Sabarmati Ashram. Mahatma along with 28 members of Ashram travelled 240 miles across the villages of Gujarat. During his journey he was joined by many leaders and people of different class and caste. The March came to an end after he made a lump of salt at Dandi. It marked a protest against the Salt Law of the British government.
