Multi-disciplinary team of IAF officers to meet students as part of Guardians of the Sky campaign.
Guardians of the Sky, a student interaction drive of the Indian Air Force (IAF), which began from Chennai recently, will be in the city this week.
The drive, flagged off by Air Officer-in-Charge (Personnel) Air Marshal S. Sukumar, is among the activities undertaken by the IAF to connect to the youth and create awareness about induction into the force’s officer cadre.
It aims to motivate the youth to join the mission and be part of the IAF family, an official release says. Young IAF officers in rally Gypsies, along with support staff and vehicles, were flagged off from Chennai with the objective of covering eight cities including Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangalore, and Bangalore. The drive aims at targeting 16 educational institutions in these cities where a multi-disciplinary group of IAF officers will interact with students.
They will provide students with details of career opportunities in the IAF and answer their queries.
The IAF adventure team, part of the contingent, will conduct parasailing activities on the institute premises. Students will get an opportunity to visit IAF bases.
They will get an opportunity to fly powered gliders. The team will visit the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology here on September 11 and the Government College of Engineering on September 12, the release says.
