The onset of the puberty period usually results in a dramatic, sudden & visible increase in height & weight. The changes occurs in body proportion (e.g. stretching of legs, arms etc.) which leads to increase in weight.
The child's body parts starts developing and hence there is an increase in the weight of bones, brain, muscles, etc.
