(a) The resistive force exerted by sand on the bullet
(b) The time taken by bullet to come to rest.

d=5cm=0.05m

m=10g=0.001kg

d=vt

t=d/v=0.05/10=0.005 seconds

F=-ma=-m(v/t)=-0.01(10/0.005)=-20N

Negative sign shows that the force is resistive i.e. In opposite direction
