Pupa is the transition stage in insect life cycle in which an insect undergoes transfomation from immature to mature insect. In pupal stage the insect comes out of the egg, but still remain in a protective covering such as cocoons, nest and other layers. In this stage the insect does not feed. The insect appear as white cylinder because of the elongation of the insect body in subsequent pupal stages.
