mean of hundred observation is 40 the ninth observation is 30 if its replaced by 70 keeping all other observation same find the new mean

Total sum = 40×100 = 4000

New sum

= 4000-30+70

= 4000+40

= 4040

So new mean

= 4040/100

= 40.4
