meena brought 5 sandwiches from her school canteen  and shared them with her friends in the ratio 2:1:1. what fraction of total did each of them get.

sum of the ratio = 2+1+1 = 4
the first friend got 2/4*5 =2.5
the second and third got 1/4*5 = 1.25

You gotta add the ratios then divide.
1+1+2=4
5/4=1.25
1.25*2=2.50 which can be shrunk to 2.5
so one friend got 2.5 while the other two got 1.25 each
or one got 2 and half sandwich while the other two got one and a quarter sandwich each
