Answer:

Present age of Mihir is 6 year and Mehul is 33 year.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let :

Present age of Mihir is a year

Then, present of Mehul should be ( 3 + 5 times of a ) year

Present age of Mehul is ( 5a + 3 ) year

Three year later :

= > Mihir's age = present age + 3 year

= a year + 3 year

= > Mehul's age = present age + 3 year

= ( 5a + 3 ) year + 3 year

According to the question : three years later Mehul’s age will be four times that of Mihir.

= > ( 5a + 3 + 3 ) year = 4( a + 3 ) year

= > 5a + 6 = 4a + 12

= > 5a - 4a = 12 - 6

= > a = 6

= > a year = 6 year

Hence, present age of Mihir is 6 year and Mehul is 33 year { i.e. 5( 6 ) + 3 = 30 + 3 }

Mihir's present age = 6 years

Mehul's present age = 33 years

Let Mihir's present age = x years

° Mehul's present age = (5x + 3) years

Three years later,

Mihir's age = (x + 3) years

Mehul's age = (5x + 3 + 3) = (5x + 6) years

According to the question,

5x + 6 = 4(x + 3)

=> 5x + 6 = 4x + 12

=> 5x - 4x = -6 + 12

=> x = 6

Hence,

Mihir's present age = x = 6 years

Mehul's present age = 5x + 3 = 5(6) + 3 = 33 years
