Fascism and National Socialism are extremely similar ideologies in a political and economic sense, this is because National Socialism (also known as German Fascism) is a derivative of Fascism.

Fascism is a totalitarian ideology, based around the state. Fascism generally believes that the state is essential for the development and self-realisation of the people, it also believes that the totalitarian state itself is an end, not a means to something greater. Fascism strongly rejects democracy, liberalism, socialism, communism and pluralism, in favour of a one-party state which embraces militarism (not inherently for aggressive purposes), autarky and traditionalism (the traditional family structure and traditional gender roles) which is led by one person wielding dictatorial power and along with that, a cult of personality level of influence and authority. Fascism is not inherently expansionist, colonialist or imperialist (Oswald Mosley’s Fascism was non-interventionist) but Fascist states such as Imperial Italy were. Fascism is likewise not inherently based on any specific form of nationalism, a Fascist can be a civic nationalist, a cultural nationalist, or even a racial nationalist, however, a Fascist always has to be a nationalist of some kind. Fascism is not inherently racist, however, Fascists such as Benito Mussolini believed in the supremacy of certain cultures over others. A very important tenet of Fascism is class collaboration, the idea that all classes of the socio-economic hierarchy should collaborate for the greater good of the state and that they all rely upon each other, if one class falters, so does the other, therefore it is in the best interests of each class to ensure that everyone is content.

National Socialism is a totalitarian ideology, based around the people (Volk/Folk). National Socialism believes that the state is essential for the preservation and extension of the race, unlike Fascism, it believes that the totalitarian state is only a means to an end, that end being the preservation and extension of the race. National Socialism strongly rejects democracy, liberalism, socialism, communism and pluralism, in favour of a one-party state, in which the state and the party essentially become one entity, led by one person wielding dictatorial power, and along with that, a cult of personality level of influence and authority. As a result of the union of the state and party, National Socialism is markedly more totalitarian than Fascism. National Socialism embraces militarism (not inherently for aggressive purposes), autarky and traditionalism. National Socialism is not inherently expansionist, colonialist or imperialist, whether a National Socialist state embraces those policies is completely situational based on whether the people seemingly need more living space (Lebensraum) or natural resources to ensure their survival. National Socialism is inherently based on ethnic, or racial nationalism, however, National Socialism does not inherently believe in a racial hierarchy, it does however inherently believe in racial uniqueness, the idea that all races are unique and that miscegenation destroys that uniqueness. National Socialism believes in class collaboration although in a different sense to that of Fascism, National Socialism believes that there are no socio-economic classes, instead it believes that there are only different occupations, nonetheless, it believes that all those different occupations should collaborate for the greater good.

Hey!!

Two similarities between the ideologies of fascism and nazism are as follows:

1) both fascism and nazizm were supporter of one party and one leader-Mussolini in Italy and Hitler in Germany.

2) both fascism and Nazism preferred the state as compared to the individual. They believed that the individual exists only for the society or state.

3) 1 extra point for you-both fascism and Nazism and the supporters of imperialist and aggressive policy.

Hope it helps :)
