Lino Brocka was a famous movie director whose socially conscious films explored the plight of the predicament of the minimized and overlooked divisions of Filipino society. He fought for the social justice through his films as Ora Pro Nobis (1989) and Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak (1990). Pandayang Lino Brocka Political Film and New Media Festival was launched in his honor.
