Mention any two steps which were taken by the British government or Dietrich Brandis to conserve forests in India

For guarding the forest , 1. The government set up the Indian Forest Service in 1864. 2- To control the forest the Indian forest act of 1865 was passed. 3- To promote research in the forest the Imperial Forest Research Institute was set up at Dehradun in 1906 it was Dietrich brandis who introduced Scientific Forestry in India.
