The most satisfactory feature of land use pattern of our country is the Barren and Waste land has reduced from 12.01% (1960-61) to 6.29% (2002-03). ... Ans: Land under forests has changed marginally. Forest area is 22.54% which is far lower than the desired 33% as outlined in the National Forest Policy(1952).
