1 - Tigers are found in diverse habitats: rain forests, grasslands, savannas and even mangrove swamps.

2 - The main difference between tropical rainforest and deciduous forest is that tropical rainforests are forests with mostly evergreen trees and a high amount of rainfall, located in warm regions of the world, whereas deciduous forests are forests characterized by plants that shed their leaves annually.

3 - Natural vegetation - This term refers to the community of plants growing naturally in a particular area without any human intervention.

Steps taken by Government to protect and conserve natural vegetation are:

  • National parks, wildlife sanctuaries, biosphere reserves are made to protect our natural vegetation and wildlife.
  • Awareness programmes like social forestry and tree plantation.

4 - All species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, arthropods (insects and arachnids), fish, crustaceans, corals and other cnidarians, and plants have declined, in many cases, severely. Human civilization has had a negative impact on most living things.

5 - The Five benefits of forest are:

  • Forests provide home and food to innumerable species of plants and animals.
  • Forests provide raw materials for many products that are used by humans
  • Forests prevent global warming
  • Forests prevent soil erosion
  • Forests regulate water cycle.
