Answer:Northern plains are flat and levelled. The river from the mountains bring rich alluvial soil also known as silt or alluvium which gets deposited onto the banks of river which makes the soil fertile. Many crops can be grown in northern plains. The most fertile lands are in u.p. and punjab.
