In autotrophic nutrition, as the name itself suggests, food is synthesized from raw materials of atmosphere by the organism itself. Plants are known as autotrophs because they synthesize their own food materials.
Heterotrophic nutrition means deriving nutrition from other organisms. They are called consumers. They are classified as primary consumers, secondary consumers, tertiary consumers and quatenary consumers.
