2x-3y=1....(2)
x=8-2y.....(3)
by substitution method
substituting equation 3 in equation 2
2(8-2y)-3y=1
16-4y-3y=1
-7y=1-16
y=15/7
substituting y=15/7 in equation 1
therefore
x+2(15/7)=8
x=30/7+8/1
x=26/7
