Answer:  cost of one notebook = 27.5 rupees and cost of one pen = 3 rupees.

Step-by-step explanation:

let the cost of one notebook be x and one pen be y.

according to minnu 8x + y = 223

according to chinnu 10x = 275

                    so x = 27.5

putting this value in the first equation 8 * 27.5 + y = 223

                                                                          y = 223 - 220

                                                                            y = 3

Hope this helps!!!!!!

Solution :-

Let us assume that, cost of one notebook is Rs. N and cost of a pen is Rs. P .

So,

→ 8 notebook cost + 1 pen cost = Rs. 223

→ 8N + P = 223 ------- Eqn.(1)

also,

→ 10 notebook cost = Rs. 275

→ 10N = 275

dividing both sides by 10,

→ N = Rs. 27.5

putting value of N in Eqn.(1) now,

→ 8 * 27.5 + P = 223

→ 220 + P = 223

→ P = Rs. 3

therefore, the cost of one notebook is Rs. 27.5 and a pen is Rs. 3 .
