Tapeworms are parasites. They are dependent upon living bodies. They live inside human body. They suck blood and get nutrition.

The mode of intake of food in tapeworm is a parasitic mode of nutrition.

The parasitic mode of nutrition is a type of "heterotrophic nutrition" in which one organism feed on another organism causing harm to the organism. The organism which feeds is "said to be" parasitic whereas the organism which is fed upon is said to be a host organism.

In this relationship, the parasites are always the beneficiaries. Because they get the food from the host organism.
