Let the S.P of the cooker be100 Rs.
He purchased it in 100×9/10=90 Rs
He sold it in100×(100+8)/100=108 Rs
Hence the gain is 108-90=18Rs.
The gain percent is (18/90)×100=20%

Monika gain percent is 20 %

Solution:

Let S.P of the cooker be Rs 100

Given that Monika purchased a pressure cooker at 9 /10th of its selling price

Purchased price = 9/10 of selling price

\text{ Purchased price } = \frac{9}{10} \times 100 = 90

And sold it at 8% more than its S.P

Sold price = 108 % of Rs 100

\text{ sold price } = \frac{108}{100} \times 100 = 108

Gain = sold price - purchased price

Gain = 108 - 90 = 18

Find her gain percent:

\text{ gain percent } = \frac{gain}{\text{purchased price }} \times 100\\\\\text{ gain percent } = \frac{18}{90} \times 100 = 20

Thus monika gain percent is 20 %
