The moral of the story 'God lives in the Panch' is that everyone is equal in the eyes of law. There is no place for friendship or enmity in justice. Justice is impartial and fair. The head Panch or judge of the village was considered to be the messenger of God who spoke the words of God. The story tells about two childhood friends, Jumman Sheikh and Alagu Choudhry. When Alagu Choudhry becomes the Panch he decides the case fairly and gives a secondary place to friendship.
