Mrs. Chaudhary wants to build a fence around her square shaped garden to keep the rabbits out. The length of her garden is 4 feet. How much fencing will she need? She also wants to plant flowers in her garden. How much area will she have to plant the flowers? Justify your answer.

Length of square garden(a) = 4 feet

Now she wants to fence the garden so we have to calculate the perimeter of the garden because fencing will be placed on it

And as we know the perimeter of square = 4 xside

Or (sum of all sides)

Perimeter =4x4=16 feet

She need 16feet fencing

And we also know that the area of square = side x side

=4x4

=16 feet²

So she can plant the flowers in 16feet²
