Reproduction in Mushroom:

Mushrooms reproduce either sexually or asexually. Some mushrooms reproduce sexually during which the hyphae of two different mating types fuse together.  As a result new fruiting body is formed which is commonly referred to as the mushrooms.

Asexual reproduction takes place either through spores or mycelia fragmentation/budding.  The mycelia of a fungus split into 2 pieces and each piece grow into new mycelia.

Asexual spores are genetically identical to their parent. Reproductive sac called a sporangium holds the released spores. Spores may also be released outside the sporangium. These spores are formed at the ends of conidiophores. There are many nuclei present in a spore which is divided into individual cells. Each cell has a thick wall that serves as the protective coat. The spores break off and are dispersed. Adverse environmental conditions often cause sexual reproduction in fungi.

Next step is budding. It is the development of new cell which is basically the separation of an outgrowth of the parent. Any cell in the organism can bud.

Reproduction in papaya:

Carica papaya is a flowering plant that reproduces sexually.  Flower is the  sexual reproductive organ. It has sepals petals, stamens and carpels.  Stamens and carpels are the reproductive parts of the flower that have germ cell.

Papaya is Uni-sexual that is it has only stamen or pistil.

An antheridium contains pollen grains which produce male gametes.

A pistil consists of stigma, style and ovary.

The ovary contains one or more ovules. An archegonium produces the female gamete or the egg is formed in an ovule.

A single plant can be male, female, or both, but they are usually one or the other.

Next step is Pollination. The transfer of pollen from the anther to the stigma of a flower is called pollination.

This is followed by fertilization. The process of fusion of male and female gametes to form a zygote which then develops into an embryo is called fertilization.

After fertilization, the ovary develops into a fruit and other parts of the flower fall off. The fruit is the ripened ovary.

The seeds develop from the ovules. The seed contains an embryo.

Seeds and fruits of plants are carried away by wind, water and animals. The seed develop into a new plant. Please refer the life cycle of papaya.
