The length of remaining lace is 10 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Total quantity of lace = 90 cm

Length of side of handkerchief = 20 cm

We have to find out the length of remaining lace.

Since mother wants to stitch the lace on the border of the square handkerchief.

That means it is done for perimeter of the handkerchief.

So,

perimeter= 4\times side=4\times20=80\ cm

Length of lace used for stitching = 80 cm

The length of remaining lace is calculated by subtracting length of lace used for stitching from total quantity of lace.

The length of remaining lace = Total quantity of lace - Length of lace used for stitching

The length of remaining lace =90-80=10\ cm

Hence The length of remaining lace is 10 cm.
