My mother is a short tempered person. She is always gets irritated at small things. And then she screams at me and my dad. She gets worried at small things and when things are not going well she gets mentally, emotionally and physically imbalanced. Which results in she causing harm to herself and not even knowing it. She has got several problems due to this behaviour of hers. Me and my dad have told her this like almost a million times. But she doesn't listen to us. Anyone please help me out with this situation.

Answer:
You're mother has severe depression and anxiety, so here is a few things you could do for her:
- If you're mother self-harms herself, the best thing you could do is look after her, and add some medicine on the harms that she had done to herself.
- Don't yell at her (if you do) and tell your dad not to shout at her as well, that would make her feel a bit better.
- Always say you're sorry.
- Don't avoid her, but if she's really mad at you and doesn't want you around, make yourself scarce.
- If you're writing a letter, you can open the letter with something like, "Dear Mum, I'm sincerely sorry for the way my actions hurt you," or "Dear mum, if you are going through anything you don't want to, you should know I'm always there for you."
- Be honest. Tell her you love her.
- Take responsibility, ask for forgiveness.
- When you've done something you regret, rather than cry, show you're sorry by changing your actions.
- Make her happy. For example, massage her legs or shoulders, make her breakfast in bed, tell her you love her all the time, make her tea or coffee, cook her favourite food (if you don't know how to ask your dad for help), and (this is something I would do for my mother) celebrate her birthday, and make her something like a thank you card or a painting on a canvas.
Hopefully she would feel better. I'll pray for your mum. Hope it helps.
