A woman is born with 2 x chromosomes these are known as the sex chromosomes while the man is born with 1 X chromosome and 1 Y chromosome.If the sperm fuses with an ovum having Y chromosome The baby will have XY chromosome and will develop into a male child (boy) if the sperm fuses with the ovum having X chromosome the bay will have 2 X chromosome and will develop into a female child (girl) .
