China and Mexico are two such countries where elections are held regularly but can not be considered as democracies. Elections are not held in a free and fair manner in these countries. In China, there are about 3000 elected members to the National People's Congress. But the candidates who contest these elections require the approval of the Communist Party or one of its eight allied parties. Thus, the government is always formed by the Communist Party and the people of the country do not have a choice really.

In Mexico, elections have been held every six years since its Independence in 1930 to elect its President. Till 2000, the elections have always been won by the Institutional Revolutionary Party and the opposition was never once successful in forming the government. This was because the party in power, PRI, resorted to unfair means and tactics. It employed government machinery to campaign for them like government officials had to attend party meetings and teachers had to force the parents to vote for the PRI. Media was controlled by the PRI and criticised the opposition unfairly.

Hello!

In today's world the most popular form of government is democracy as it gives the maximum amount of freedom to the citizens. It also gives certain rights and duties which makes it an ideal form of of government. People can choose their own leaders through free and fair election and can also remove the leaders in the next election by casting votes for other candidates.

Some countries which have democratic form of government are *INDIA* , *USA* , etc

But there are some countries which do not have democratic form of government ie. they do not have free and fair election.

» SAUDI ARABIA --> MONARCHIAL FORM OF GOVERNMENT WHERE THE KING TAKES ALL THE DECISIONS

» NORTH KOREA --> DICTATORSHIP
