physical state of water is about 250°C and it's in the form of gas as we know the boiling point of water is 100°C. hence the temperature higher than its boiling point, it exists into its gaseous state.

metals which are less reactive with the physical state of water are gold, silver, mercury, lead etc. they don't react with water but their are some metals which are very reactive with water like sodium and potassium. therefore they are kept in kerosene oil. they react vigrously with water and oxygen to form hydrogen-oxide.
