Gupta Period was considered as the golden era of the Indian History. It existed from 320 AD to 550 AD and they covered much of the Indian sub-continent. The Gupta dynasty was founded by Sri Gupta and was succeeded by Ghatotkacha, Chandragupta – I, Samudragupta, Chandragupta-II and Kumaragupta-I.


The kings of the Gupta adopted many different titles. A few examples are - 


1. Samudragupta - Kaviraja, Ashmedha, Param Bhagavat, Sarva-raj-och-chetta and Dharma Prachar Bandu.

 

 2. Chandragupta-II - Vikramaditya, Devashri, Devraja, and Param Bhagavata

Gupta rulers adopted various titles for themselves.
Title like kaviraja, kind of the king and World monarch was adopted by the "Samudragupta"
While the other titles like Devraja ,Param Bhagavata, Maharaja was also adopted by the rulers,
Gupta Empire is considered to be the one of best era in the history of India.
This was an ancient indian empire and was actually founded by the Sri Gupta which is why it is known as the Gupta Empire.
