Solution-

In the attached figure,

AD is the median of the triangle ABC.

In triangle ADB and triangle ADC,

BD=CD, as AD is a median and it bisects DC

AD is common to both triangle

m∠B = m∠C, as triangle ABC is an isosceles triangle with b=c

⇒ ΔADB ≅ ΔADC (By SSA congruence)

Therefore, AD is the line of symmetry. And for an isosceles triangle like ABC, AD is also an altitude.

Hence, the line of symmetry of an isosceles triangle is median or altitude.
