LIFE CYCLE OF  A BUTTERFLY
Butterfly reproduce by laying eggs. The eggs have a hard covering or shell made of chitin. The process of development of an egg into young one has four stages.
Eggs ---> larva ----->pupa (cocoon) ----->adult butterfly.

When the EGG is hatched a tiny  wriggling creature comes out of it. It is called LARVA. It is very active feeds on leaves and grows on. After a few days it stops feeding and makes a silken covering called COCOON around itself. This stage is called Pupa. After a few days cocoon bursts and a lovely ADULT BUTTERFLY comes out . This process of changing Larva into an adult is called metamorphosis. The larvae of butterfly are called Caterpillar .

LIFE CYCLE OF A COCKROACH:
Eggs ----> Nymph -----> Adult

It has three stages - eggs ,nymph and adult. A cockroach Lays EGGS on papers, books, clothes and other objects that are kept in dark place. The baby cockroach that comes out of egg is called a NYMPH. It looks like adult but small in size. As it grows it sheds its skin many times. This process of shedding of its own skin till the nymph becomes an ADULT is called moulting.

HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU....
