Answer:
i) Carotene and Melanin are the pigments that are present in the cells of the Epidermis
ii) The body’s resistance to disease is improved by an Immune-boosting diet and vaccination.
iii) Circular motion changes its direction and speed.
iv) Lifting weight is an example of Anaerobic exercise, in which Muscular force is used.
Explanation:
i) Carotene and Melanin-
- Carotene is an Antioxidant precursor of vitamin A, which is needed for the synthesis of photopigments, it is yellow-orangish in color and is present in the stratum corneum of the epidermis. It also gives yellowish color to the skin. It is also known as beta-carotene.
- Melanin is a yellow-red or brown-black pigment that also contributes to the skin color and absorbs damaging UV or ultraviolet light. It is produced by Melanocytes that form 8% of epidermal cells. Melanocytes develop from the ectoderm of a developing embryo.
ii) Immune-boosting diet and vaccination
- Certain dietary changes can prepare the body for microbial attacks and excess inflammation.
- Some important micronutrients such as Zinc, selenium, vitamin D, iron, Vitamin C, and protein are identified as critical for the growth and function of immune cells.
- Intake of Probiotic food like yogurt with active cultures, kimchi, kombucha tea, fermented vegetables contain helpful bacteria, and Prebiotic foods like leeks, asparagus, banana, onions, garlic other fruits, vegetables, and whole grains contain fiber and oligosaccharides that feed and maintain healthy colonies of those bacteria.
- Vaccination is another simple, effective, and safe way to protect the individual from harmful diseases, before contact. It uses the natural defenses of the body to build resistance to specific infections and makes the immune system stronger.
iii) Circular motion
- Circular motion is a periodic motion with a definite period and frequency. It is an accelerated motion, Work done in circular motion is always zero.
iv) Anaerobic exercise- In which glucose is broken down without the use of oxygen. Some other anaerobic exercises other than weight lifting are circuit training, pilates, and yoga.
