Comedy in India: Who is the better comedian between Kapil Sharma and Raju Srivastav and why?

Experience your favorite novels through audiobooks on Audible.

Although both of them have different styles of comedy, I would say Raju Shrivastav any day is a better comedian than Kapil Sharma.

Kapil Sharma used to be one of my favorites during the Great Indian Laughter Challenge and the Comedy Circus days, but going by his show, he is trying to become the Jimmy Kimmel among the Indian masses now. Although he has been highly successful commercialy, I would say he has failed to express himself as the comedian he is. He likes to call it a celebrity talk show but it's not even close to it. I would simply call it a television show intended to promote movies without substance, and also giving out potential comedians as biproducts. The show simply has nothing to offer other than mass appeal.

Talking about his humor, his comedy boils around insulting people (women in particular), and the bloated ameer v/s gareeb(rich v/s poor) jokes. I never found him witty enough to make anyone laugh apart from Navjot Singh Sidhu.

Coming to Raju Shrivastav(our very own Gajodhar Bhaiya), this man has an unmatchable sense of comedy that involves almost everyone as his target audience, though this factor doesn't matter but he has been excellent at that. He is the perfect comedian who's jokes are always fresh and can make the audience laugh without insulting anyone.

As per my opinion, comedy is more about observation skills and Raju Shrivastav is way ahead of Kapil Sharma in this prospect. Not taking anything away from Kapil Sharma, but he has a lot to work on. He needs to stop being massy and focus on his real humor skills which I think are absolutely brilliant.
