In the nose there's are olfactory receptor cells which are also conducting neurons they have unusual bipolar neurons which help in the detection of smell whereas,
In tongue or sense of taste or gustation they have gustatory receptor cells which as it's counterpart works to stimuli of taste they have free end microvilli projecting in the taste pore with special protein cells for taste producing molecules they survive for 10 days and then are replaced by the new gustatory receptor cells.
Also there is a fact; Women often have a keener sense of smell than me, especially at the time of ovulation.
Hope this helps you with your question!!!
