For active processes the cell needs continuous supply of energy.

Both aerobic and anaerobic respiration produces energy in the cell through chemical reaction.

Aerobic respiration takes place in the Mitochondria on the other hand anaerobic respiration takes place in the cell cytoplasm.

The Amount of energy produced by anaerobic respiration is lesser than what is produced by aerobic respiration.
