the earth is divided in three heat zones which are the frigid zone, the temperature zone and the torrid zone.

1.the frigid zone :

it is divided into two sub zones which are as follow .

a) the north frigid zone:

it lies between the arctic circle 66.5 degrees north and the north pole 90 degrees north . it covers 4.12 % of the earth's surface.

b)the south frigid zone :

it lies between the Antarctic circle 66.5 degrees south and the south pole 90 degrees south . it also covers 4.12 % of the earth's surface.

2) the temperate zone:

it is also divided into two sub zones, which are as follow:

a) the north temperate zone:

it lies between the tropic of cancer 23.5 degrees north and the arctic circle 66.5 degrees north. it covers 25.99% of earth's surface.

b) the south Temperate zone:

it lies between the tropic of capricorn 23.5 degrees south and the Antarctic circle 66.5 degrees south .it also covers 25.99% of earth's surface.

3) the torrid zone :

it lies between the tropic of cancer 23.5 degrees north and the tropic of capricorn 23.5 degrees south . it covers about 39.78% of earth's surface.
