Greece was a part of the Ottoman Empire. After nationalist feelings emerged in Greece, the people revolted to get freedom. Lord Bryon, an English poet helped them ,also the Greeks residing in other parts of Europe helped the local Greeks. With the efforts and struggles of the people, finally Greece achieved freedom and The Treaty of Constantinople recognized Greece as an independent nation.
