3>Present Perfect : Something which has been completed or done. Like : I have studied.

Past :
1> Simple Past : Something which was done. An action which was completed. Like : I studied. He played.
2> Past Continuous : Something which was being done. An action which has being completed. Like : I was studying.
3> Past Perfect : Something which had been done at a particular moment in past, OR used to indicate earlier past. If you're talking about two things in the past, you use this to indicate the older one. Like : I had already studied yesterday before dad told me to study.
