a person diving in a pool - A diving person falls into the water by the gravitational pull. Once inside the water, the gravitational pull is overcame by the buoyancy of the water. This results into an unbalanced force which prevents one from reaching the floor of the swimming pool. The buoyancy of water equals the upthrust.
