The Tata Iron and Steel Industry of Jamshedpur is located near it's raw materials i.e iron one from Mayurbhanj and Kendujhargarh in Odisha and Singhbhum in Jharkhand, coming coal from Raniganj in West Bengal and Khakis coalfields in Jharkhand, limestone from Gangpur in Odisha and magnese from Kendujhargarh. these raw materials are very heavy and are needed in bulky quantities so the industry is located close to it to cut transportation costs.
The cotton textile industry in Ahmadabad is also located near it's raw materials i.e raw cotton from the Deccan Plateau.
