After 31 days of continuous work at school, the summer holidays were finally announced. I forced my parents to plan a holiday to a hilly area — Munsiyari. Unknown to many, this place is still untouched by pollution. As we reached our destination we were caught in a hailstorm and we could do nothing that evening. However, in the morning I beheld a beautiful sight — the sun rising between two Himalayan peaks. I felt a soft, cold breeze. It was a remarkable experience. The full moon night was equally charming. We toured the region known as “Little Kashmir”.

I along with my family had gone to Delhi to spend the weekend with my uncle. Although I had been to Delhi quite some times before, this weekend trip was the best experience I ever had. My family, uncle and I went on a casual outing all around Delhi. We went to several normal everyday places as well as some tourist spots. Early Saturday morning, we went on a quick visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan and India gate, which was quite pleasing. We then went to the infamous Lotus Temple, where we got entirely indulged in the aura of peace and silence. After this, we went on a shopping spree in Sarojini Nagar market and Connaught place and then to the old fort for a lovely evening of boating. Sunday was even more exciting. We set out for a calm morning walk in the Lodhi Gardens, from where we went to the great Okhla Bird Sanctuary for birdwatching. We had lunch at the famed Paratha gully in Chandni Chowk. In the evening, we went to the National Rail Museum, followed by The serene and beautiful Akshardham temple, where we enjoyed exploring our country's culture,as well as experiencing a fabulous laser light show of a story from the Vedas. This was yet the most fantastic vacation I had ever had in Delhi.
