Chlorofluorocarbons are fully halogenated paraffin hydrocarbons that contain only carbon, chlorine, and fluorine, produced as volatile derivative of methane, ethane, and propane. They are also commonly known by the DuPont brand name Freon

it is a refrigerant . it was used to put in referigerator and AC's . now it is banned because due to this there is a hole in the ozone layer over the Antarctica.
