Answer:
The Song of the Whaleby kit Wright is a poem which is based on the killing of Whales for our benefits.
Here personification is used which is art of giving emotions or human traits to a non-human being.
In this grief is shown towards Whales and their condition due to human basic needs.
We are killing them, slaughtering their kinds just to use makeup and polish.
The poet here simply states that every whale is crying for your loss of life.
You are dead now, I can hear your voice in this forest (Means vast) of sea.
Your voice is high and full of grief due to which even the mountains are tumbling.
Every one is sad on your death. Birds are crying on high pitch with their small sounds.
He simply ends the poem by saying that whale you won’t be able to sing again like rest of your kind.
We will make you silent now. Now you will live for our use.
The life we chose:
Life of makeup and polish for our shoes.
Your death like many other of your kind is worth only this much to us.
