m = 3kg
M = 5kg
a = (M-m)/(M+m) * g
= (5-3)/(5+3) * 10
= (2/8) * 10
= 2.5 m/s²
Tension in the string attached to the masses
T = mg + ma
= m(g+a)
= 3(10+2.5)
= 37.5N
Tension in the upper string,
T' = 2T = 37.5*2 = 75N
