Consider the two sides of the right angled triangle as x and y and the hypotenuse as z so by pythgoras theorem.....z^2 = x^2 + y^2.......now we know that x - y = 4 taking y on the other side x = 4 - y.......now substitue it in pthagoras theorem you'll get an quadratic equation as....y^2 - 4y - 192 = 0.......now solve the eequation......you'll get the values for y as 16 and - 12......as lenght cannot be negative y has to be 16m substitue this value in pythagoras theorem and you'll get the value for x as 12m.........Hope it helped!
