The southern part of India is more flood prone as Indian southern part is a peninsula i.e surrounded by water bodies on three sides.
So there is comparatively more chance of flood in southern india than in northern.

The southern part of India is more flood-prone compared to the northern part.
As the southern part of India is a peninsula that is surrounded by the water bodies by 3 sides.
There are mountains in the northern part of India and most of the northern rivers flow to the Bay of Bengal.
Due to these reasons there is less chance of flood in the northern parts of India.
